Thompson’s Outdoor Power Equipment, located at 1410 High St., Williamsport, offers a variety of outdoor power equipment to both landscapers and homeowners.

Thompson’s lawn equipment has been around since the early 1960s.

“It has been around for a while — Danny Thompson was the old owner and then it changed hands back in 2010,” said Travis Ward, general manager. “So its services have changed as well over the years,” said Ward.

The business is now owned by Roland and Patricia Slingerland.

“We are committed to providing an extensive inventory of top-quality equipment,” Ward said. “One of the things we specialize in is serving commercial landscapers and homeowners. We want to supply them with the best outdoor power equipment brands in the industry.”

Thompson’s carries the brands STIHL, Toro, Honda Power Equipment, Generac and Weber.

“We sell all kinds of gas and battery powered lawn and garden products. The one thing that’s really starting to take off is battery products — We do offer an extensive list of battery products. We really strive to get the customer what they need,” said Ward.

The business has an educated and well-trained staff available to answer customer questions and provide quality service.

We actually have two gold certified field technicians on staff. That’s the highest level of field training that you can get. So you actually go to school and get certified. There’s two of us here. I’m one of them,” said Ward.

“We put a lot of time and money into training. Just so we know the new trends, there’s a lot of hands-on training that we do, we do webinars on products and repairs. We spend a good amount of time reinvesting in that knowledge,” said Ward.

“We have a good repeat customer base,” said Ward. “We are Central PAs largest STIHL dealer. We are also a Toro master service dealer. And we are one of the area’s only Honda premier dealers.”
