A gun-toting robbery crew on wheels has been wreaking havoc in Upper Manhattan, striking at least four times Saturday afternoon — till a good Samaritan finally yanked their weapon away, cops and sources said.

Wild video captured the Samaritan incident, which occurred around 4:45 p.m. in Fort George.

“It was like something you see out of a movie. How are they going to try to rob someone in broad daylight?” a resident who witnessed the drama told The Post on Monday.

The violent attempted mugging was only one in a string of recent crimes believed to have been carried out by two in-the-wind suspects on a small black motorcycle with distinctive white markings and no plate. Their crimes include a would-be robbery targeting a woman near the Guggenheim Museum a couple hours earlier, law-enforcement sources said.

The suspects have been involved in dozens of incidents since early July, a top NYPD official said.

“It’s very tough. They’ve hit so many times. It’s like they hit five, six, seven times in a day,” NYPD Chief of Detectives James Essig told The Post Monday.

“They’re just scooting all over and they’re in and out of traffic and they’re flying all over. It’s tough to follow.”

In Saturday’s most recent incident, two suspects on the ride began chasing a 28-year-old pedestrian in front of the La Ruleta Meat Market at Nagle Avenue and Arden Street in Fort George, according to cops and footage posted to Instagram.

The criminals cornered their prey on the sidewalk, and one of them then held a gun in his left hand as he grabbed the screaming victim by the shirt with his right, video shows.

“Help!” the victim repeatedly shouted.

The suspect punched the struggling victim and appeared to try to grab something off his neck.

Cops say the suspect fired at the victim three times but that the man was not struck.

Seconds later, the good Samaritan approached the suspects from behind and tried to grab the gun out of the mugger’s hand, the clip shows.

The gunman punched the Samaritan in the head, but the do-gooder was still able to grab hold of the weapon, the clip shows.

The suspects then took off down the block on the motorcycle as the passer-by who snatched the gun futilely chased after them on foot, according to the footage.

“Everyone in the store got on the ground,” recalled Maximo Tavares, a delivery driver at La Ruleta Meat Market who saw the terrifying scene unfold.

“All I know is they wanted his chain,” the 37-year-old man said of the victim.

The resident who also witnessed the incident said the victim was assaulted by the robbers for close to 5 minutes and that the video only shows the end of the interaction.

The attempted-robbery victim suffered minor injuries and was taken by EMS to a local hospital.

No arrests have been made.

Chief Essig, in speaking with The Post, said the masked duo are targeting people wearing chains or jewelry with most of the cases occurring in Riverdale and Inwood.

“[They] ride up on the sidewalk with a weapon – a gun, threaten with a gun,” he explained. “Thank God we haven’t had anyone shot in this incident. The gun was recovered in the last incident, where people were fighting back and we retained the gun.”

Just before the good Samaritan incident, the same duo also is believed to have attacked three other innocent New Yorkers, including the woman near the Guggenheim at East 89th Street and Fifth Avenue, sources said.

In the crime outside the museum, the motorcycle-riding duo approached the woman around 12:15 p.m., and the passenger on the back of the cycle tried to steal her jewelry, cops said.

She fought him off, and the pair fled, authorities said. Several hours later, at 4:40 p.m., an Upper Manhattan resident was walking to work when he was approached by two suspects on apparently the same cycle on West 204th Street at Broadway, sources said.  The duo threatened the man with a firearm, apparently targeting his chain, and told him they would shoot if he moved, sources said. They ultimately fled empty-handed.

“Crime is getting really bad around here,” said a worker at the corner Citgo station to The Post on Monday.

Then at 4:44 p.m. at West 212th Street and Broadway, the suspects approached a man sitting on a bench and stole his chain while threatening to shoot him before fleeing. The chain was from CVS and not worth much, police said.

“It was smooth — it happened really quick” said a worker at a nearby bodega, after reviewing video footage of the crime.

The incidents come as most major crimes continue to surge at a rate of 36 percent so far this year compared to the same period in 2021, according to the latest NYPD statistics.

Robberies are up even more, nearly 40 percent, the data show.
