Makita U.S.A. has recalled some cordless hedge trimmers because they are missing the teal-colored guard on the shear blade.

Makita has recalled some cordless hedge trimmers because the teal-colored guard on the shear blade is missing.

The hedge trimmers were sold at home improvement stores, hardware stores and other independent outdoor power equipment stores nationwide and online at The Home Depot and Amazon from February 2022 through June 2022 for between $260 and $420, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Model numbers of the recalled trimmers are XHU07Z, XHU07T, XHU08Z and XHU08T.

People who bought the hedge trimmers should contact Makita for a free repair.

“Makita will provide consumers with a merchandise return label to ship the trimmers back to the firm for the free installation of a new blade guard. The firm will return the repaired trimmer with a teal-colored guard on the blade.”
